I loved watching this romance develop and that everything wasn’t predictable

The swoon factor was high on this one, the banter is amazing, and the flirtations are out of this world. There were so many pleasant surprises happening between the two main characters (and side characters) that had me laughing out loud and trying to turn the pages quicker to find out what would happen next!

I also really appreciate the closed-door heat level. RomComs are hard for me to even want to pick up because boundaries can get pushed in a hot second. I expect a level of flirtatious innuendo and even minimal potty humor with any contemporary, but I have come to really appreciate the talent Kortney has for writing well thought out flirtatious/swoony scenes that don’t leave me blushing. If you ever thought you needed fire with your steam to make a book more complete, I challenge you to pick up a Kortney Keisel book because I’m telling you the entertainment factor is high for all sugar daddy profile visalia levels of readers!

(3.5) i had just finished a fantasy series when picking this up so i was in a huge reading hangover and wanted something that wouldn’t put me into a slump. and this worked. this was pretty easy to get through as i was invested enough into the storyline. the grief portion of this book was a prominent aspect but wasn’t too heavy.

Another 5 star, re-read book for me AND my first book that will for sure make my best of 2022 book list!

this is a forbidden romance as the h is the teacher while the H is the parent of her student. and i feel a forbidden aspect when not done in an uncomfortable way just works so well as it builds up the angst factor. i really did enjoy them wanting to be together but trying to simultaneously pull away. i feel like the only times i accept insta-love are when they cant fully be together for another reason, so them being infatuated early on was something i think the author made work.

I have so many one liners marked

and individually i really did like tyler. he was just a very endearing guy who was in touch with his emotions. he was equally hot and knew his effect on meg so that made him such a sexy character to follow. we get to see him process his grief and underestimate his parenting ability and i felt that this was just very realistic. i hated his friends though like why are you pressuring him to date again when it’s only been two years? like leave him be and allow him to heal. in regards to meg i feel like i understood her actions in some aspects. the way she felt like she was processing things so differently than everyone else and how everyone was moving on except for her. im someone who feels deeply as well and isn’t so quick to adapt to change so i could relate to that.
